PRESCRIBED BURN

“Potential Prescribed Fire”

“Prescribed fire notice for Ellis County, to be conducted on Saturday, September 7, 2019.”

The Ellis County Fire Marshal’s office will be monitoring a potential prescribed fire being conducted by a third party licensed/insured burn manager. The Burn Ban is still in effect, however the Texas Administrative Code on Environmental Quality- 30 TAC 111.217 (5)(B)/111.219, allows exemption for licensed burn managers to continue conducting prescribed burns in certain conditions, in order to prevent future wildfires. If meteorological conditions permit, the prescribed burning will take place at 8:00am on Saturday, September 7. Located at the south west section of Ellis County of 6442 FM 934, with the fire being located near HCR 4317 and Severe Rd.

Smoke is expected to remain light during this burn; however, anyone with health concerns are encouraged to remain indoors with the windows closed. Residents in the surrounding area should not be alarmed but are encouraged to contact the Texas Commissioner on Environmental Quality for any concerns at 1.888.777.3186.
