New Release: Ellis County Monitoring Flooding Along the Trinity River

June 1, 2015 - Ellis County, Texas: Due to the continuous rising waters from the Trinity River, several small areas adjacent to the river are experiencing flooding. A series of small breaches have occurred along the Trinity Rosser levee, which is being actively monitored by Ellis County Emergency Management and first responders, the Levee Board, and Corps of Engineers. All affected residents have been encouraged to evacuate the area. Other areas of concern are near Red Oak Creek, Smith Creek, Ten Mile Creek, and Lake Bardwell.

All residents are encouraged to avoid areas that are under water. Law Enforcement will be restricting access to affected roads as they become a hazard. Please remember that it is illegal to drive through, tamper with, or remove barricades. If you encounter a road that is covered in water, stop and turn around.
