[ARCHIVED] Message from County Judge Carol Bush

Thanksgiving Day is tomorrow, but today is what I call Thanksgetting Day because there is much to get done.
I need to:

GET to the grocery store and somehow get out alive with the last can of pumpkin left in the store.
GET the house in order before my family arrives.
GET over the fact that my house will not stay in order once they get there.
GET out the Christmas decorations that I’m already being pressured to have out even before Thanksgiving is over.
GET Dishnetwork (I’m renaming it DishNOTwork) to make a service call, make my satellite offer every football game possible so that my son’s Thanksgiving Day isn’t ruined.
GET cooking.
GET in shape before the Turkey Trot tomorrow.
GET realistic about getting in shape before the Turkey Trot tomorrow.
GET WITH IT!

I could keep going, but you get the idea. My Thanksgetting Day list is long; but, it cannot compete with my Thanksgiving Day list of blessings… a wonderful family, friends, colleagues and community. As you frantically hurry through your own TO DO lists, just remember, the chaos of today paves the way for the treasured memories of tomorrow.

Wishing you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.
