Juvenile Justice System

A child who breaks the law in Texas may enter the complex world of the juvenile justice system. In Texas, the ages of juvenile justice jurisdiction are 10 to 16 years of age. The handling of juveniles is strictly regulated by state law, but juvenile probation is locally administered at the county level.

Juvenile Service Programs

Ellis County Juvenile Services provides many programs and resources for juvenile offenders. View the Texas Juvenile Justice Department website for a list and description of programs.
